| [quote=caesar;3651398]It does appear to be a 'hit or miss fix' at the moment dependent on the build date of the engine.
How does one know the buiild date of the engine? What we all know is the assembly date of the vehicle but that doesn't tell me when my engine was assembled in France or when the transmission was put together in Japan.
I know that some of the engines are built in England and I figure that given modern "just in time" manufacturing processes that there isn't much of a gap between construction of the engine and assembly of the car but I don''t know that.
And would being off on the date of assembly of the engine by a week or two make a big difference? If you find out that engines built the second week in June (just to make something up) all had the rattle. How would you know when your engine was put together? |
