Wouldn't it be a REALLY good idea if in future new cars came with something more modern than the ancient cigarette lighter socket for charging portable devices like mobile phones, cameras, MP3 players, portable DVDs and satnavs?
It seems to me it is about time that the USB and mini-USB interfaces were fitted as standard - and ideally one (or more) socket would be handily positioned for each occupant in the car. I see that the mobile phone indistry has just agreed to move towards a standard for phone charging, so why not car manufacturers too? (BBC article here
