I used these type of products years ago......Molyslip/Slick 50, etc
great in old engines with high mileage.

nowadays I would agree with your dealer that they could do more damage than good in a modern engine such as the Mini.

the engine tolerances are much tighter than they were years ago and that is one of the reasons you need to use the proper recommended oil.

to put a coating in the oilways/bores could be detrimental to the oil flow around the engine.

I would agree with DaFlake's post

ps I remember that they always raised your oil pressure by quite a bit.
