Im fairly sure that both the x-lites and r90 (16") wheels fit behind the brakes:-

But as I am going to be using the wheels as trackday items, I dont really want to have the cooling issues which may be caused by the small distance between the calliper and wheel. Although having said that the Challenge cars seem to run the R90s with the larger JCM brake kit and a spacer without any issues.
I will definitely be fitting track based tyres and theres a good chance of slicks so strength is more of an issue than weight. I was keen on the Team Dynamics pro race series until I found this:-
MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - Thats not Supposed to Happen
And that happend with R888s as opposed to slicks, which wouldnt exactly fill me with confidence at the track. I have also seen the same happen to Gallardo stock wheels at the track so strength really would be more important than weight, which is why I enquired about the 16 inch R90s as they are proven in the Challenge.
Does any one know of any other either 17x7 et48 /16.6.5 et48 wheels, that would:-
-Clear the
JCW Brake kit
-Not give me cooling issues under track conditions and
-Be able to withstand the corning forces generated by a slick tyre, without the spokes snapping like twigs.
Thanks for your help guys
