DIY Removed Battery and ECU - Problems?

Hi,

My Fiancee's 2005 Mini One Seven has been leaking a small amount of coolant every week. I had it pressure tested which didn't show any leaks. A quick search on here and I was shown the Thermostat Housing problem.

All the signs pointed to this being the problem, so this afternoon I set abut stripping it down so I could have a proper look. I removed the airbox, the battery and the ECU so I could remove the battery box and get good access.

The Thermostat Housing is showing signs of coolant escape so thats been removed and I have ordered a new one along with thermostat and gasket from Minimania.

A couple of questions regarding this.

1. When I reconnect the battery and ECU (Obviously ECU 1st then battery), am I likely to encounter any problems with anything thats powered or ECU controlled?

2. Has anyone an idea of how much coolant/antifreeze costs from BMW and how much will I need. What is the mix ratio and what is the volume required in the engine.

Thanks,

Brian.
