I have had my Cooper S since new ( Dec 06 ) The rattle started 1 week after delivery ( once every few weeks to start with )
Despite many visits to the dealer, they only heard the noise for the first time when they had the car in Feb this year, so they changed the Timing Chain, Tensioners etc.
Car was fine for a couple of months, but the rattle is back although very occasionally
My car has been to the dealer approximately 15 times in 2 and half years for this and other faults, my warranty is due to expire in December this year and I am not prepared to take the risk of having to pay for highly probable future problems, so have placed an order for a new car ( from another dealer as the service department at my present dealer have been next to useless )
Dissappointed to be leaving MINI, this was my second, the 1st Gen was fantastic, but the overall experience of owning an R56 has stopped me from buying what would have been my next purchase - a Factory
