6 months ago same thing happen to my '05 convertible. The front part open, then 1 side doesn't want to unlash. The car was just out of warranty and the dealer explain that I needed to have half of the frame replaced for +/- $2500 (Orlando, Florida dealer). My dad couldn't beleive it. So he looked at the roof frame and found a broken plastic part that make the latch lock in the front. Called the dealer, can't buy that part, took the part to a machine shop that copied the part in aluminum and OVERCHARGED us $400 make 2 of it. Guess what, last week the other side broke, so my $400 investment made me saved $5000. |
