| I agree. They're pretentious and usually indicative of vanity on the part of the car owner. Who cares what your initials are? Are they the only distinctive thing about you? I once saw a car where the letters/spacing had been played with so it read "YE5 1M MW". To be honest, I wasn't wondering whether you were MW, or KQ for that matter.
"Normal" personalised plates are bad enough, but the ones with dodgy fonts or non-standard spacing are dreadful (whilst displaying a particularly unappealing type of arrogance and contempt for the law). Someone driving a Rover 214 near where I work has "RO51E H T" as her plate, and every time I see the car, I'm really tempted to report her to the police. Petty, I know, but you can't pick and choose the laws you comply with. If you don't comply with laws relating to registration plates, does that mean I can disregard burglary laws, break into your house and steal all your stuff? |
