 Denim hood problem
Can anyone help? Purchased Cooper convertible in Horizon Blue and denim hood in March 09. Car was show room model bought on launch weekend. June 09 noticed hood was wearing thin externally on passenger side. Worn in two places where the roof meets when folded down. Looked white and threadbare as jeans look when worn out! Returned to dealer who replaced the fabric. When car returned roof now slightly bulges over drivers seat. New roof three weeks old and signs of wear occuring again, but this time on drivers side. Dealer explained roof had been adjusted when new roof fitted as advised by mini HQ, I think they have adjusted too far the opposite way. Took car back to dealer as wear is in early stages would rather stop the problem than have new roof again. Of course dealer would not commit to agreeing the roof has a bulge. Dealer now waiting for HQ to reply but suggested may have to have new mechanism I am v.reluctant to go through this. Anyone experienced similar or have any advice how to proceed with dealer?  |
