According to a recent internal BMW-Mini memo for customer services dated 20.09.2009, the
JCW suspension strut brace cannot be retrofitted to the R56 Cooper Diesel.
Granted that the
JCW parts brochure may imply to the contrary.
The installation notes,available on genuine-miniparts.com, confirm this is the case, but do not give a reason why.
Apparently the diesel engine is slightly taller than its petrol counterparts, hence there is insufficient clearance without making modifications to the bonnet.
Has anybody tried to fit one to confirm/disprove this is the case ?
