| My 2002 sounded just like this at that mileage and I'm sorry to say it needed a new gearbox. They replaced the clutch whilst it was out. I found a local specialist run by ex BMW mechanics who quoted half the dealer £ who then reduced their quote by 50%. They said it was BMW goodwill but I'm not really sure. I quoted all the bad stories about gearboxes on here. |
