After owning my '04
mcs for exactly 1 week my power steering failed!
The night before it failed i had parked in a very tight space that required a few awkward manouvers. When i went to start it the next day......nothing from the ps. Whether this contributed to its final demise i do not know.
I also dont know weather the previous owner (private purchase) knew of the problem or if it was pure coincidence.
I did however strip the pump down, clean it all out paying particular attention to the circuit board then rebuilt it.
Its been working fine for about 3 weeks now........... so we'll see.
I'd reccomend stripping and cleaning your pump motor before replacing as its a very easy job to do with basic tools and modest mechanical knowledge/experience.
Other than this my mini has me grinning from ear to ear, very much like my 1.0 city e did when i was 17
