knocking the stick in to neutral in any car will obviously relieve stress on the engine, hence less likely to stall in any situation. yet the Mini seems more prone to stalling than most other cars, we may find in the near future that it's something to do with ECU? just a guess??? I have noticed that in HK though that most people(mainly on auto) have a habit of knocking the car in to neutral when approaching red traffic lights etc anyway, this is one of the times ivguess this is most likely to happen. I personally see this as a bad habit anyway and feel you shouldn't have to do it! The only other thing that could make me think that it would be very commom in HK is A/C, for the majority of the time it's on and creates an extra load on the engine! maybe when winter comes back you may find this happens less, plus then engine will be able to run a little cooler aswell. The bottom line is this, it shouldn't happen. |
