United-Kingdom No JCW for CVT, what gives?

Hi all.

First post...

Moving to a new Cooper/cvt from a 380bhp Supra is a bit of a change...

The Cooper is nippy, but not quite enough! I contacted JCW about the 'works' kit, and they point blank told me that it wasn't an option for the CVT model.

Why? Is the CVT tranny not strong enough for more power?
If Toyota can build an auto that'll do 500bhp on a standard box...

I specifically wanted the works kit to keep the warranty intact; I commute 120 miles/day (yes, in my Mini) so reliability is important.

I guess I'll have to do things the hard way and do aftermarket mods. (I thought I'd seen the end of that with the Supra!)

I'd been keen to hear from other Cooper/CVT peeps that have increaed power.

Oh, it's worth stating that I *have* to drive auto (big RTA 5 years ago, messy...) and the 'S' doesn't come auto.

I might just have to get another Supra for my kicks... hmm 1.3bar boost, 5" HKS Hiper...
