Either weekend works fine for me - I drove Hwy 50 at about 11pm on my way to Vegas last week (I know, it seems the wrong way - but I wanted to spend the next day driving down the Eastern side of the Sierra's) I can suggest a South lake Tahoe route that will take us over Monitor and Ebbbetts (sp?) Passes - Just Awesome on a weekday - twisty, smooth roads and no cars. A weekend run might be worse for traffic. I really enjoyed the whole way to Mono Lake but going as far as Markleeville will also make a good run.
Dinlo - houseboat vs Mini run, mmmm, tough call! I vote we change the date to Aug 29-30, that seems to have no conflicts.
BTW - the pulley is AWESOME!!!
