This is usually a problem with the pump cut off being too sensitive and the angle of the nossle into the fuel tank. Apparently if you turn the nossle upside down and fill up it doesn't happen. Haven't tried it myself but be warned that the pump may not cut out at all, leaving you with soggy shoes (not to mention fuel down the side of your pride and joy).
