The thing is, when petrol stations are built, or are restored, they usually have reconditioned, used pumps installed. Older pumps are slower and less sensitive to a full tank, there is nothing you can really do about it, and if you start using the pumps upside down, the garage person will go on the tannoy and point it out, v embarressing.
The reason you have trouble with Sainsburys, is. When supermarkets build stations, they buy brand new pumps. And the newest pumps have a goldish coloured sleeve round the nozzle, this is because the new cars that take unleaded, they are sized for the right pump, so you dont put diesel in!!
This sleeve is metal, and reacts with the stop function that you have when your tank is full. When petrol touches it, it stops the pump. BAD Focus > Mini One > Mini Cooper > Mini Cooper > BMW 316 > BMW 318 > MINI ONE > BMW 120i > MINI ONE PEPPER! - IM BACK!! |
