I think December is fantasy. I think January is more likely. My main consideration is access to a construction workforce and of course to customers during the holidays - which is difficult. In addition, if they wait until January 1st then they don't have to worry about all of the annual corporate crap that a business must go through for really only operating a few days during the year(annual results for the year, annual tax reports to government, annual payroll and w-2 summaries, etc.).

I don't expect a big rush to open anyway. If a dealership could open sometime soon they could still capitalize greatly on pent-up demand. All of that demand for the Cooper and a good portion of that demand for the Cooper S should be satisfied by January.

And I would think that almost everyone from their wait list will have a car by then from Don Rosen MINI, who is benefitting by getting many of the cars originally allocated to Otto's.

Bad business decision on the part of Otto's to wait on construction. I still have my name on the Otto's list but I expect I will get one from Don Rosen well before that.
