So to summarize, for the benefit of anyone new here:

June 19, 2004: MINIs on Top, V2. Sunset drive to the summit of Mount Washington, 100+ MINIs anticipated. There will be a catered meal at the base prior to the summit ascent. For those looking for something to do earlier in the day, there are a couple options; There will be a group watching the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain in Maine, then driving to NH. There will also be a group which is skipping the AM part and will be spending the day driving around NH.

Stuff To Buy:

T-Shirts: To be organized by Steve (Cape Cod MINI)

Window Clings: To be organized by Gavin (GadgetGav)

Both of these items will bear a variation of last year's rally plate, the color specifics TBD.

Other items (polo shirts, hats, badges, etc.) may arise depending on popular assent.

A Whalen Shift Machine knob with unique MINIs On Top logo will also be raffled off.

Cost:

There is a cost tied each of these elements, the specifics TBD, but they should be comparable to what it cost last year:

The drive to the summit - $20 per person
Meal at the base - $10 per person
Shirt - $10
Cling - $15

Rates are less for children on the meal/summit drive. There is a 15% gratuity for the meal/summit drive.

Stay Informed:

Any details will be posted at minisontop.com, check there for updates. To keep on top of things and to keep Steve sane, PLEASE contact him at sbarnatt@comcast.net and have yourself added to his mailing list. We don't yet have any formal registrations that I know of, but Steve's mailing list is the closest thing at the moment. As soon as registration is set up, Steve will notify you via the mailing list.

Lots of other work is being done and has been done by MINI2 members, we've had name tags, a proclamation from the Gov, a "most eclectic CD collection" contest, door prizes for a variety of things (most bugs on car, furthest distance traveled, etc.). Various efforts are underway to get MINI dealers/retailers to supply us with goodies to give away, and as are efforts at getting representation/acknowledgement from MINI itself. Regardless, the sunset will be gorgeous, the people will be nice, and there will be an whole fleet of MINIs to ogle, so save the date.

Everybody clear? Good...

-Ricardo
