Have finally made progress. My dealer (sydney australia) had the warranty guy come out and apparently there is a new pulley or harmonic balancer that they have just designed. The guy said this fixes the problem. As soon as they get the new part in, i'll get a call and my car will finally be fixed after 20 months of complaining!

Still trying to get the leather replaced....
