I have owned my ONE for about 15 months and with the exception of very occasional longer runs the vast majority has been local- running to work etc. I only did about 5000 miles in the firtst twelve months and milage is now up to 13.5K- car was ex-demo with about 6K on the clock. I have checked MPG since I bought it and even have spread sheet with all the details on (how sad is that!)
Car is averaging just short of 40MPG and is improving as time passes- recently been getting 430ish from tank. Car is also chipped (stage 2 Superchip) with K & N panel filter and S/S exhaust without any restrictions.
Strangely enough car is far more flexible since "improvements" and MPG has not suffered in any way- I think that much depends on the type of runs that you are doing- if there is a lot of stop and start it will hammer the petrol consumption.It also helps if you can have a light right foot- my has got even lighter since I was caught by the police exceeding the speed limit!!!! |
