looking forward to the new MINI.
I live in the UK (Bromsgrove) and currently have a 1 year old Ford Puma. The build quality is very poor and the amount of things going/gone wrong with it have made me want another car sometime this year.
I've decided on a MINI Cooper as soon as they are available over here (early July 2001 - lucky me). From the write-ups over here people
have been saying that in pure handling terms it's even better than the Puma (probably one of best handing cars for under £30k) and it should be built well. I can't wait for my test drive but I have yet to put a deposit down on one.
BTW does anyone have any info on the weight of the Cooper and what UK insurance band it's likely to fall under?
Best wishes to all in the group

I hope I'm doing this right; it seems like there ought to be a spot to type into. Anyway, you must know that the weight will be around 1,600 lbs according to magazine articles. Does that help?
