In an article from "BMW World", dated 1-12-01 and titled "Good Things Come In Small Packages", the following text appears:
"The base Mini will have the 1.4-liter, 8-valve engine. The top of the line Mini will have a 1.6 liter, 16-valve engine with a supercharger. Assuming 100 horsepower and a weight of 1,600 lbs, this car will be super fast! This is the kind of power to weight ratio found on an MZ3."
So, there you go for what it's worth. I hope it's accurate.
