When looking at a car from the side, the first thing that jumps out at you shouldn't be the wheels, but rather the lines of the car ... unless of course the car is ugly ... which the MINI is not. These "busy" wheels detract from the retro character of the car. The pictures in this thread make me think of all the Honda "rockets" I see running around, with their gaudy oversized wheels, ridiculous body kits and coffee can exhaust tips.
I'm with Gazzaman28 and KShapiro in thinking that 17" wheels look out of place on the MINI. As much as I like the style of the 17" 8-spoke wheels they just look too large on the MINI. If I lived in the UK I'd be contacting
Superlite to see if they had 15" or 16" classics in the proper offset for the MINI. I'm going for the 16" 5-spoke wheels and, if I tire of them, some Panasports.
