My wife wants to get a new car/truck/SUV and just about every one has major rebates off the sticker price. We looked at one that had over a third of the sticker price slashed off the MSRP. It makes me wonder what kind of crap they are trying to pull, or what is wrong with the vehicle if it is has $11,000 marked off the original price. Worst of all, some dealer have bigger rebates than others, it is crazy!

I was very happy to pay the $21,000 sticker price on my Cooper. This car is well worth what I paid and I know that every dealer is charging close to the same for cars like mine. It took away the trouble of going to fifty different dealers to buy the same car. The Cooper is a great car for the money and you know that the dealer that you will be dealing with for service and future purchases are not trying to pull one over on you.

Only the dealers that are charging above sticker are screwing people (and must be avoided, to discourage such behavior)

One nice thing about everyone paying MSRP or higher is the resale value will be higher and stay at a consistant level. If we buy the DurangoCherokeeTrailBlazin'Explorer, who knows what the $31,000 car that we bought of $19,000 is really worth. Imagine the poor idiots that paid close to MSRP for these so-called cars? I bet they are taking a bath!

After I bought the MINI, I did not have one once of remorse for what I paid for it, because that is the price that everyone pays. When we get my wifes SUV (I know...SUV's are evil, but I let her get what she wants and I get the car I want), we will likely pay at least $8000 below MSRP, but I will still wonder how they screwed us on that deal.
