| Rich,
If you live in the bush or drive long distances from towns in Oz I'd get the EMT. The gunk is useful for minor punctures but if your tyre gets holed then you'd be up the creek sans paddle.
I ran Eagle F1 EMTs on my old Saab company car. The reason was that they are the best overall tyre. Road noise is significantly less than the previous Bridgestone S02s. For me in the UK,tyres are more about ultimate wet weather grip/cornering/handling. I'm more worried about stopping distances in the wet and not getting intimate with other cars and hedges.
There's very little difference in dry handling on tyres as we don't drive at 99% all the time. I also found that despite Bridgestones claim of dual tread compound (when the tyres are half worn there's a layer of "fresh" tread) was total cack.
Once my NCT5 EMTs wear out I'm going to replace them with Eagle F1s. There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |
