: Nearly Hit again! Tracie Dec 1st, 2005, 04:53 PM  Manny and I were very nearly hit again this morning..I was being *nice* and let out a huge Juggernaut..he had loads of room to turn into the road but he made a meal out of it and very nearly took off my bonnet..luckily the guy behind me reversed up and I did the same and the lorry driver stopped before he hit me..I know they look in their mirrors etc and he probably knew he was close etc but thats the last time I play Mrs Nice Person and let a lorry out again  Fevs Dec 1st, 2005, 05:00 PM he most likely knew he could not get round thats why he stopped befor he hit you
i am a lorry driver for a living most car drivers leave what they thing is enough room for us to turn but dont quite understand that a 45 foot trailer needs quite a lot of room to follow the tractor unit round a corner without mountain the curb
i can put a 45 trailer in a space withing about 2" of where i want it first time most of the time :D
he had no intention of hitting your car othrewise he would of driven right over it :) :p MINI Poser Dec 1st, 2005, 05:00 PM Yeah...I really wouldnt want to mess with you Lola...
You did get give him abuse didn't you? ;) :D
And to have two SCNM cars knackered in less than a week would be pretty unlucky! Trainman Dec 1st, 2005, 05:20 PM Yeah...I really wouldnt want to mess with you Lola...

I've missed so much whos had probs with their cars Arron? Tigger, Eeyore & Roo Dec 1st, 2005, 05:34 PM I find it I stop and give lorry drivers the proper amount of room that they need (to do whatever manouvre they've got to do) you normally get a great reaction from them!
Don't give up yet Tracie; it's good to promote understanding between different groups of road users.

funny you should say that :D
had a case few weeks back where a Dutch truck driver rear ended our client.
proceeded to take statements and the reason why he rear ended our client......
he was making a cup of tea
funny thing was he thought he was doing nothing wrong! haha
probably had his bacon and egg fried before hand hehe
fills your with confidence eh! Harpo Dec 1st, 2005, 07:31 PM Until you drive lorries, you have no idea of the problems that they face every day from idiot car drivers. In my very humble opinion, car drivers ought to have at least three hours behind the wheel of an HGV on a track somewhere so that they can at least grasp an understanding of the physics of large a vehicle.
Remember, when a truck driver pulls out in front of you, he is not as fortunate as you in having a highly manoeverable, nimble and fun vehicle as you.
Unless your name is fevs of course. :) wibbly Dec 1st, 2005, 07:40 PM Remember, when a truck driver pulls out in front of you, he is not as fortunate as you in having a highly manoeverable, nimble and fun vehicle as you.
