I can buy a set of completely new Cooper S springs plus dampers for around 80 USD...
I think its a bargain and its better off than a KONI lowering set or something, since I would like to see my car lowered 3 to 4 cm...
But can they be mounted on my standard Mini One?
Thanks

Yes they can be mounted on your one, without a problem.

Just keep in mind that the handling while improved, will still not match a Cooper or an S because you will still not have the roll bars. I am not too sure you can install those without some welding being done. Anyways, good luck!

Yes I know I'm still missing those essential bars...
One thing at a time though ;)

I am confused.com

Well yes they would fit as all the cars share the same suspension fixing points, but what i dont understand is how are you planning to acheive a 3-4 cm drop on standard Cooper S suspenion?????

Have you got a set if aftermarket springs to go on? or something else?

Hej Andrey,
No I wanted to lower the car a few cm's, for instance 3 to 4...
But since the cooper S springs will lower the car about 2cm, and will improve the handling as well, I decided to go with those 2cms.
The dealer will fit them next Wednesday, so Ill keep you guys updated.

does your One have a sunroof?

i'm just curious if the S-suspension has compensated for the extra weight of the sunroof and perhaps you might end up with a 10mm drop ;)

front bar will obviosuly be fine, it's just the rear wont have the mounting points on the subframe unless the car was specced with sports suspension when it was built:)

As a point of interest and som e random information the Mini One has 14mm front antiroll bar, where as the cooper s has a 17mm (not sure if that is ss or not). Thats why the MINI one rolls so happily in the corners.

The MINI one doesnt have a rear bar and a 17mm front bar

The Cooper (SS) has a 16mm rear bar and 22,5mm front bar

The Cooper (SS+) and S has a 17mm rear bar and 24mm front bar

Oh yeah got that one wrong

Just measured our Mini One and the front was 16.20mm (where did i get 14mm from:confused: )

And the Cooper S had 24mm front & 17mm rear, emphasis on HAD as it now has Eibach full replacemnt.

I must be going old :aargh:
