In case anyone missed them.

I wont repost them on MINI2 as news as I don't want to get into copyright trouble.

Some of the best yet I think in terms of clarity, still not showing the real thing, but getting closer!

:D

they obviously don't know what they are on about...:p

"In place of the low-tech iron-block 1.6-liter"

it mite be quite a simple engine but low tech aint the word! it's a strong well tuneable engine! not many cars have oil cooled pistons:rolleyes: low tech my.....

and they can't spell litre :D

on the positive side, looks like mini have finally made a proper exhaust:D

I cant help thinking that from the photographs, it looks like the headlights look like thay are sort of sliding themselves around the front of the front guards....

I'm loving the much squarer and more integrated looking bonnet scoop  Not having a separate panel with air vents behind the bonnet should help with cleaning too ;) You can see where they have saved costs by not having wraparound rear glass any more :( I'm still undecided about the wisdom of not including the wheel arch as part of the bonnet but instead having a gap between the bonnet and the wheel arch - maybe in final production, the gap might be less obvious. I know they have decided to go for evolution rather than revolution, but are the changes depicted in these photos enough?

All in all, I give it two thumbs up :D

Strip away the tape from the rear and the tail lamps appear to be a lot larger AND there seem to be additional rear lamps at either end of the grill set in the rear bumper.

It's bee said here earlier, but I really don't like the idea of the curved rear glass being deleted:mad:

I think in terms of design the current MINI is a classic, they'll struggle to beat it even if they may evolve it. But I am still very much looking forward to the next generation MINI.

good catch - i missed those details at first glance. it still looks like the wings come up with the bonnet as one piece though. i wonder how that will work with no scuttle plate? maybe it will hinge up from the front? also the taping around the headlights make me wonder whether they will lift with bonnet as currently or stay fixed in place

Awwww, no side vents!!! :(

I didn't realise the bonnet scoop would be staying either.

Also like the key on the dash rather than in the steering column.:nice:

Look alright to me. Like the new dash, plus I reckon it will have improved build quality. How come it still has a scoop?

That's upset a few people (the stereo) when the earlier detailed interior shots where posted on here (via iol.co.za motoring).

Don't like the new centre dash at all - means having to live with standard nav/audio. Kill off the modding opportunities and you kill off half the point of the MINI thang :( A dangerous game for BMW I reckon.

not if they put in a decent stereo to start with. the main reason people ripped out the current standard units was because they are so poor & to upgrade cost more than a decent aftermarket unit. i good quality integrated unit is always preferable as far as i'm concerned, i just hope they include a front panel aux plug & bluetooth connectivity as standard, & ditch the casette player completely

Very promising indeed!

Outside looks lower and more muscular. New more rounded rear end looks even more like the classic Mini and the fatter rear lights make the rear look more pert (current one looks very wide at rear!)

Glad they have kept the clamshell bonnet and the diagonal cutline, the bonnet is a really nice shape - it looks smoother. Only visible cost cutting is the square rear window instead of curved - that isn't just disguise, right?

The 50s Concept car interior details are fresh, different and spot on - the dash looks like the cross section of a plane which is cool though shame the alloy/body colour/athracite inserts will be smaller.

Now I've seen a bit more I shall be contacting my dealer shortly....;)

Don't like the dash - sorry. Too much like an Imprezza around the air vents - eugh! Don't like the proportions of the new front end or the squarer rear window. I would miss the supercharger, turbos are so boy-racer, so '90s. Shame my dealer wants £1000 deposit on a JCW GP.......
