: Seeking advice for front camber plates Laxsion Jan 7th, 2006, 05:26 AM Hi all,
My S is running PSS9 with oem suspenson tower plates setting. Now want to get an adjustable one for mainly twisty roads use only.
Your advice are very much appreciated.
Laxsion pocketrocketowner Jan 7th, 2006, 03:47 PM I bought a set from Webbmotorsports. Easy to fit (with the proper tools) very discreet and they helped with the handling quite a bit, though not as much as I thought they would. 5To be fair, have not really had much of a play with them). They do make the front ride harder so if you think your S rides hard, these will make it worse. Laxsion Jan 8th, 2006, 11:37 AM I bought a set from Webbmotorsports. Ride harder is not a problem as my suspension is adjustable, corner improvement & shopping cost are my real concern.
By the way what setting are you using -1 or -2 ? Any significant uneven tyre worn ?
Cheers
Laxsion pocketrocketowner Jan 8th, 2006, 01:05 PM No weird tyre wear, so far.....mind you, I do not use the car as a daily driver.
My one test day (no playing with the settings though) gave me a sense that with max camber (close to -3) it is very good in the dry but could not get it to glide in the wet.
As it was a charity event, could not really have a play.
Cost wise, I believe Webb is a tad more expensive than others, but I tell you what, it is a SERIOUS piece of kit.
Cheers

Hi,
I have found that around -2 is the best setting. If you go any more than that you start to lose braking and acceleration performance. -2 is a nice compromise improving the turn in and cornering without sacrificing straight line performance.
At those settings you will get improved and more even tyre wear on the racetrack. However, for street driving you will get premature wear of the inner aspect of the tyre after a while.

Laxsion roland2003 Jan 10th, 2006, 03:26 PM Another way (and alot cheaper) if using PSS9 is to redrill another set of holes 11-12 further inboard at the top of the strut tower. (actually 2 holes per side, the other innermost one we move the STUD OUT 12mm) . This makes the front neg camber increase to -1.7 degrees. You can swop back to stock -0.5 deg anytime.Thats what I've done to our car.
Beware of any camber plates (can't remember the brand) that sit ON TOP of the tower(rather than underneath it),there is one out there and IMHO is an accident waiting to happen . Hi Roland,
Can you show us some photos where & how to d.i.y. those holes if you don't mind ?
Thanks in advance
Laxsion roland2003 Jan 11th, 2006, 09:01 AM Hi Guys if you use penny washers under the nuts ( not a bad idea anyway) it covers up the holes quite nicely. I havnt got any pics that will help realy ,in effect the top of the strut each side moves inboard (towards the centreline of the car 11mm)
