I saw an old thread about some Ohio MINI owners wanting to have a get together and can't find the thread now. Oh well. I had an off-the-wall idea for next summer, though... The Amphicar community has a swim in at Grand Lake in Celina every July (loads of fun -- my wife and I went two years ago and we don't own an Amphicar). It's part of the Lake Festival in Celina and there are classic cars on display -- dozens of Amphicars driving and swimming around, outdoor arts and crafts vendors, etc., etc. Anyone up for a MINI meet there in July 2003? One down side though: not many twisty bits in the roads in that part of the state.... For more info on the Amphicar Swim In, you might check Amphicar.com, a club website. Hey, let me know if anyone from northern Ohio (or eastern) is planning anything informal, as we'd like to be part of it.

I'm from Mentor, near Cleveland. We have some family in Celina, and saw the festival on Speedvision one time. I think if we could get enough people, it would be a great place to have a MINI meet or just a regular car show. Anyone else interested, let us know. By the way yellowminijim, what's the details on your car, and where are you from?

Count us in if something happens, we live in Chardon and just picked up our MCS last week. Just can't seem to get enough drive time.

If you set something up in eastern Ohio, let me know and I'll make the drive from Pittsburgh!

How about this summer/fall?
We're from the Medina/Wooster/Akron area and anxious to meet other MINI owners!

My wife and I are finally back from a two-week vacation through New England in the MINI -- 2300 miles and if we had a dollar for every time someone came up to us with a question about the car.... We're up to 6000 miles now. Our MINI is yellow with a white roof, CVT (but a lot of steptronic on this trip!!!), sports package, and heated seats (no use on this trip!). Anyway, my motoring will have to be in small chucks for a little while, but, again, if anyone wants to have some sort of informal rally or something, please let me know.

An addendum to my previous post -- we're from Alliance, Ohio, where I understand at least one other MINI lives.

Count me in for any meet! That Amphicar thing sounds fun, though you'd think the Amphicar owners would be upset 'cos our MINIs would be taking all the attention! LOL. Let me know of any future developments with this. SarcuxKSU@msn.com is my e-mail.

Jim,

I am planning on sending out an email to the folks who attended the Ohio/Ky/IN meet last month, suggesting a meeting in Cleveland at the Rock and Roll Hall of fame for early November. I had planned to send out the email last weekend, but got tied up. It should go out tonight or tomorrow night, and once we get things figured out, I'll post more info on this board.
