Nice to see there's lots of lovely run off though. I had a similar moment at Donington Park on Coppice which is a corner at the top of a blind hill. Got carried away overtaking and forgot to brake 'til I was over the brow. Luckily stopped just before going on the grass! poogiemini Apr 12th, 2006, 10:13 AM myself and damien can defo not make this as we have just had to fork out for new tyres for my mini and new discs and pads for the peugeot cab and peugeot gti:( so we are now officially skint:(

I only got a cooper not exactly a trackday more of a posers car plus im only 19 and no trackday insurance :( Tonyt3 Apr 15th, 2006, 04:58 PM What would be the situation with someone who doesnt want to rag his car around the track, but wants to have a laff with the top end minis in the pits and learn about these minis at the same time??? You can certainly come and 'observe' mate, you'd probably have to buy a 'passenger' ticket (£35 i think), so that you can come to the pits, then also do a passenger ride or two.... Tonyt3 Apr 16th, 2006, 05:49 PM Bored with your bank holiday, nothing special happening...?? Wished you had something great planned for your free time...
Fix this with the late May bank holiday, by having the best fun you can legally have in your Mini....

VW cabrio this weekend as well. MaTTy_P Apr 16th, 2006, 09:33 PM I think they missed the point Tony :hmph: SoggyCornFlakes Apr 17th, 2006, 08:26 AM threads merged :) REHW Apr 18th, 2006, 07:16 AM I think they missed the point Tony :hmph:
Your not kidding! This thread is for People who USE their Mini's and not just talk about waxing. Come on guys lets get signed up for this. The last few track days have been excellent.
Also it doesn't matter weather its a mini 1 or the hottest specced up S in the country, its about the fun you will have out there on the tarmac, when your mini is being pushed to its max as you drift it round a right hander before going on the brakes for a hairpin. It isn't racing and so there is no competition to be faster than Tony;) and its pretty safe. Thats why we are going to Bedford as if you come off the track you are very unlikely to hit anything. For those of you who have never done a track day before, its the ideal place to start out, and in case you are wondering most of us dont have track day insurance. I was thinking this through last night actually. Of all the track days I have been on (must be close to 15 now) I have yet to see an accident. And yet I know plenty of cars that get badley damaged on Mini runs..... and many more close calls with memebrs of the public too.
its safer than a Mini run in my view. Root Ginger Apr 18th, 2006, 08:57 AM Tony, you could have just jinxed this track day now by saying that  :D Tonyt3 Apr 18th, 2006, 09:33 AM Tony, you could have just jinxed this track day now by saying that  :D
nah
One of the SCNM runs a couple of weeks ago had a bad accident. and i've seen some pretty close calls - nearly ran into the back of another car on a run. so unpredictable. one of the reasons I dont do many runs myself now. Root Ginger Apr 18th, 2006, 01:09 PM True, a certain person in a fruit coloured MINI nearly ran into the back of me on a Motorshow run and on that same run a couple of MINI's got hit by a flying brake master cylinder (don't ask). REHW Apr 20th, 2006, 07:27 AM Have any more of you guys signed up. Come on now!!! Speedd Apr 20th, 2006, 10:41 AM Right!!!

yes, people are always quick to say they will attend, but then either realise theres something more iportant on or just dont want to hand over the money until nearer the time. i dont think we will attain the free tuition offer on this one, but I bet theres a last minute rush on people booking.
incedentally, i havent booked myself yet, due to being bloody skint, but will be booking shortly :D lol Root Ginger Apr 20th, 2006, 12:56 PM Yes, I must admit I still haven't booked yet as I was waiting to go into next months credit card billing date. As it's a w/e I'm gonna see if Miss RG wants to come and watch tonight. Then I'll book tomorrow, promise. That means they'll be 9 so only one more to book to gain discount. I'm gonna see if my mate wants to come. The last track day we went on, he crashed the car before he got to the track  Root Ginger Apr 20th, 2006, 02:29 PM OK, my mate wants to come too now. Not sure which car he'll be bringing. That should bring us up to the 10 we need. Root Ginger Apr 20th, 2006, 02:55 PM Anyone know if theres a noise limit? My mate is bring his S2000 with race exhaust. It's incredably loud. If there is, he'll put the standard one back on. He also has other friends that may wish to come. There is a noise limit but last 2 times we went no one tripped it. depends how 'rediculous' the s2000's exachust is I suppose. i think its 105db, but it would be worth checking. My Cooper S woth GTT manifold and works exhaust only puts out around 92
also got a couple of non mini mates from work said they were coming.... woodsy_bear Apr 20th, 2006, 05:26 PM When I spoke to Alex a couple of weeks ago, he took my card details but said he wouldn't take any money off it until enough people had booked up. I spoke with him today and can confirm that he will take the money when there are 10 people, this will allow the discount to be applied. REHW Apr 20th, 2006, 08:41 PM Has Roland booked as I was looking forward to learning a bit more about the tuning options for my MCSC. Ideal oportunity to give a good sales pitch! and I would love a passenger trip with a master!!! Sadly, I dont think Roland can make it now, for some personal reasons, and not just because he didnt want to get embarressed... :D
Shame though. Would love to have followed some of his lines around that track.
Have you done Bedford before Russel..? REHW Apr 20th, 2006, 08:54 PM Yes Tony!
Last time with you and Steve and Woodsy and poogie in the gravel!!! That was a laugh. | |
