I have just been in to my local dealer, they had 2 06 MCS for sale, said they would discount them(a bit odd i thought) so i tried my luck i wanted £1500 off of a met black MCS, chilli, Man air con, full leather sports seat upgrade(this looked and felt great) priced at £18,995, would only give me £500 off without haggling. I deceided not to run with it, but instead i was told i could put a deposit down on the MINI3 MCS, to which i said yep why not!! He could give me no dates specs etc, but surely this must be a hint that it will be coming this year, and maybe sooner than expected??? I have to say my dealer is a pleasure to deal with, and not too pushy, which is always a good thing. So i reckon a 'Concept' at the British motor show then sales for sept/october this year. I cant wait....roll on the summer!!!:cool:

I must admit, i was a tad suprised myself, i got my name down because of the grey area concerning the residual value of the current model, the MCS i test drove today felt considerably more solid and smoother than my 04 53 MCS. But still a bit unsure of teething troubles on this new model, god do i remember my 51 mc!!! my name is down, but still havent ruled out the current version. My dealer said they would be very flexible about my needs!!

The "concept" the British Motor Show will be basically the same as the Geneva Concept (Traveller).

Do you know that for sure? id like to think there maybe something extra at the show?

I said I would never buy a new Model at launch after the faults I had on my 51 Cooper. Hence my decision to get one of the last MCS, at least you know it's going to be solid as a rock.:)

As to the next model, my dealer said the S version won't be on sale until next year.

Indeed I hold your word hallowed, Mr Mullett, so I shall not hold any expectations for the motorshow. I was hoping for more of course, but I will still go.

May be a bit of an optimist, but I dont think the new MINI will have enough changes for too many problems to occur. Its mostly a mere repackaging for the new engine. Again, my move has residuals in mind.

My dealer has also said that he thinks the MCS will be delayed beyond the release of the MC. That may give me more time to save up, but why have we already seen and heard so much about the new S? I know its the most hyped model, but BMW could easily enginner both cars simultaneously. Heres hoping!

eeek hope your deposit wasn't too much - you probably won't see a Cooper S this year! Think of the interest they are making on it! :D :D
