Okay, I have looked at all the mails so far on pushchairs and carseats. Can someone please give me a definate from birth car seat that fits and also a from birth pushchairs for the boot. Also can the front airbag be disabled to put the car seat in the front???????

Bought the Mini Cooper on a Sunday, found out I was pregnant on the Monday. Am determined to keep the mini! :p

If you have just picked up a brand new MINI then there is the ability to disable the air bag yourself with the key;)

If its a used MINI then you might not be able to do this.

As for a definative list for what fits the MINI, no, there isn't one, and there should be either.

A car seat should always be tried in the cars that it will be used in before it is purchased, as each and every car differs slightly, even between the same models and the same build years. How the car has been used can effect the shape of the seats, such as if the back seat has been down and its been used to carry things, or if an over weight passenger has sat in the same spot lots, all these things compress the foam of the seat. Also suppliers of components change all the time so there can be variations that way.

you must always try before you buy a car seat, and not just buy one because someone tells you it fits without testing it.

Also its important to get a seat that you can operate easily so that way there is less risk of it been fitted incorrectly;)

Have a read of this thread (http://www.mini2.com/forum/minis-children-parents/79317-buying-using-car-seats-definitive-guide-parents.html) and then get yourself off to a good Nursery Retailer, such as an indepentant or John Lewis:)

Oh and welcome to MINI2 and congratulations on the great news:)

Congrats! We were the same, bought car and then two weeks later we found out! (so not quite as quick as you)

I've been looking at the Loola as it seems a decent package, still waiting to go and test it in the car though (got plenty of time though)

I was thinking about the Quinny Zapp but it doesn't appear to have a from birth ability.

It does seem a royal pain in the **** the 0-6 month section! I'm sure it'll be worth it though when he/she arrives

the Quinney Zap isn't from birth, but take a look at the Buzz, its big brother;)

The loola is a pretty good product, but its complicated with lots to go wrong, but I know where and how it is made and its well made, its just the design that has what I would call to much to it.

Oh and did you know they are both made by Dorel, just under different sub brands, Dorel are the largest baby product company in the world, they make loads of stuff from Maxi Cosi to Quinny to bebeconfort, to Safety First etc...

Hey everyone. Thanks for the advice re:car seats/prams etc. My mini isnt brand new  so there is no key to disable the front airbag. Do you think it can be done at the service department?

I'm with you on the need to fit a carseat into the car befor buying:tongue: Have two girlies already. but there must be someone who can say that they have bought a (blah) push chair and it fits in the boot beautifully. For example the Mamas and Papas Aria seems to be mentioned alot but noone has mentioned if they have it and if it fits good.

Anyway, found a fab metal sign to go in my drive way 'Mini Cooper Parking Only' Very cool. I'm thinking of getting 'Sad Sack People Carriers Parking Only' sign for my husband who is having to change is Saab convertible for a 'sensible' car to accomodate the soon to be new arrival and our two already made girlies! :p :p :p

there is something out there whos slogan is " lie them flat" or something like that and they state that their seat fits in a Mini with NO PROBLEMS at all.
I am suprised no one actually has come on and said " this one definately fit in mine etc", I know you have to check anyways but you would have thought some people would be able to say "i bought this and ............." or something to that effect.

just found this one, and though VERY pricey, seems to be good, and, according to thier website (the company not the link) it fits in a Mini, nearest place to me is in manchester though (180 miles):
