So Sport Relief is encouraging everyone to swim/hop/run/walk a mile for the charity this year http://www.sportrelief.com/themile/

i was thinking about this but was going to pull it down high street (in Lincoln) coz you got to move a mile in some way or exercise if I'm not mistaken, need to speak to me neighbour tho see if I'd need to block the road or owt

Email Top Gear or Fifth Gear and propose they advertise it and let us do it at their tracks??? i would be up for it aslong as you dont have to go to knockhill - its miles away!:D

Sounds like a fantastic idea, date and location dependent of course. There was a similar thread before about getting the world record number of cars together, and them all being new minis, a BMW garage was organising it but got held up/disappeared in council red tape.

I have been in touch with Humber Bridge before when one of our runs went over it, when I did the recce they had cones out for works, and I asked if we could pull into the empty lane for static photo's.

They are very helpful on there, would have allowed it but the date our run took place, they had no cones out, no work going on, so both lanes were open !!

They offered to pull all the video from their security camera's of the cars going over, I can;t remember why we didn't use it.

So good luck with your plans, and I will bring the DMR across if this one goes ahead.

After the meet on Wednesday Katy, I'm going to get in touch with Sport Relief - get some packs sent to us. Each member who takes place (in their car) will receive a unique "runners" number. We can affix these to the back of our cars for the trip - to show the cause of the event and donate all proceeds to the charity

Great idea to get Sport Relief numbers for each car. Got a written response from Humber Bridge today - basically giving us the green light but with a good few points we need to consider first, police risk assessment etc. Will bring with me to meeting tomorrow
(Matt has been trying to organise an East Coast run for Lincolnshire Mini Owners MINI2 members so a good idea for him to come along too!)

Humber Bridge mtg postponed - LeeP has had the linkage snap between the gear stick and the gearbox on his MINI. :(
