The 2'007 MINI2 Charity Ball will be taking place at the Northampton Marriott Hotel, on Saturday 12th May 2'007

The new Charity Ball website can be found at this link - MINI2 Charity Ball 2007 (http://www.mini2charityball.com/)

As well as providing you with all the information you need to know about the Charity Ball 2'007 the new website also provides you with a simple opportunity to register and pay for tickets electronically via PayPal - you can of course still pay by cash or cheque if you prefer.

Tickets are limited to 174 only so to be sure of joining the biggest and best MINI party of 2'007 get yourself and friends registered now!!

Tickets Remaining: 5

I will run a reserve listing in case we have some folks needing to cancel so if you want just a chance to join the fun then get your name down :)

The 2'007 Charity Ball will have an added bonus with a James Bond theme - included in your ticket price will be a fun casino featuring Roulette and Black Jack tables and other Bondesque touches to add extra excitement to the festivities- including a prize for the person who wins the most money during the evening!

The hotel has a large secure barrier controlled car park, borders the Delapre Golf Course, includes a pool, gym and spa and is of a relaxing comtemporary design.

The venue is both ideally suited for UK attendees being centrally located in the Midlands, with the M1 motorway just 2 miles away, and for International attendees with Birmingham, Luton, East Midland and Heathrow Airports all within about an hours drive.

For more information about the Marriott Hotel please follow this link Northampton Marriott Hotel Hotel specials, rates and availability in Northampton (http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/ormnh?WT_Ref=mi_left)

We are delighted to announce that already Wollaston MINI (http://www.wollastonmini.co.uk/) and New MINI Stuff (http://www.newministuff.com/new/index.php)have continued their generous support for this annual event and will be Event Sponsors for 2'007

This will be the 3rd MINI2 Charity Ball and we have previously raised over £10,000 for worthy causes - we are hoping for a record amount to be raised this year. Our nominated charity for the 2'007 Ball is Marie Curie Cancer Care, who employ more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, providing care to around 25,000 people with cancer every year, along with support for their families. For more details on Marie Curie and what they do, click "The Charity" link from the Charity Ball website, or follow this link Welcome to Marie Curie Cancer Care (http://www.mariecurie.org.uk/)

Ticket Price

The cost of the 2'007 Ball ticket will be £45. A minimum deposit of £15 per ticket is required to secure your booking.

This will include the cost of all the evening’s entertainment, a welcome drink and your meal but exclude your drinks bill and accommodation. It will also include a voucher for $100 that can be exchanged for poker chips at the Casino.

As we have to commit in advance to the hotel on numbers we are unable to offer refunds after 1st Februay 2007.

Want a bulk buy? Well if you book a table of 12 you can get a free place. Sound good? Well it is and it's really simple to get it, you provide a list of twelve names, make a single payment of £495 and save yourself £45. Yep, round up 11 friends and YOU can go free

The Gamble

This year as an added bonus your ticket will include $100 voucher that can be exchanged for poker chips at our Casino night - try your hand at the Roulette Wheel, or beat the dealer at Black Jack. Are you as cool as Bond at the gambling tables! This is a "funny money" casino, no cash prizes (but there will be something special for the night's biggest winner).

Foreign Currency Payments

We will be capable of taking foreign currency payments through our PayPal invoicing but please contact us before registration so we can agree exchange rates prevalent at the time of payment.

Hotel Booking

The hotel room rates are £78 double and £69 single bed and breakfast rate.

You can book a room NOW using a credit card to secure the room, which can be cancelled up until 2.00pm the day prior to the 2'007 Ball without incurring any charges .

Call +44 1604 768700 and ask for a room from the MINI2 Charity Ball allocation, we currently have 65 rooms block booked but these may be released at the hotel's discretion so book quickly!!

You can also fax your reservation to +44 1604 702485 which may be better for overseas visitors with time differences etc.

There are a limited number of executive rooms available at an extra charge - please enquire on current pricing at the time of booking.

Please advise in this thread if you have booked a room.

How to Register

Access to the 2'007 MINI2 Charity Ball will be by entry ticket only and cost £45.

You can discuss your interest on this thread but to formally register your details you MUST visit the 2'007 Charity Ball website "Buy or Reserve Your Tickets" page , link is here MINI2 Charity Ball 2007 (http://www.mini2charityball.com/tickets.html)

The Format

This will be an exclusive event with a Welcome Drinks reception followed by a sumptuos dinner, a raffle and an auction of course. The Casino will then be open with a prize for the person who wins the most money on the night as well as a Shamtastic disco until 2.00am and extended function bar licence until 1.30am. The main hotel bar will of course remain open to all residents on a 24 hour basis and will provide sandwiches in the small hours for Rakey and his band of (very) merry men!!

Dress will be, well Bond of course - formal black tie for the Gents and Bond Girl bikinis for the ladies

Please bring your friends along even if they are not MINI2ers or into MINI as such, the evening will be generic enough that they will enjoy themselves as much as anyone else.

A MINI Run

There will be a run on the Saturday taking in some superb roads around Northamptonshire , this will be organised by some nutter called Soggycornflakes, registration for the Run can be found here http://www.mini2.com/forum/uk-ireland-confirmed-events/117809-northants-nutty-run-may-12th-2007-a.html

Additional Fundraising activities

If you have any ideas for additional fund raising during the night then please get permission from the organisers first. You can also help us with our fundraising by seeking sponsors for the Ball, please see this page of the Ball website for more details MINI2 Charity Ball 2007 (http://www.mini2charityball.com/support.html)

Thanks to all the early runners who have signed up, all those along with wollastons booking a table FULL already means we already have 35 registered which means our 174 tickets is now down to 139

Folks , this party will sell out, and promises to do so pretty quickly as we have much support from sponsors and Marie Curie so to avoid any disappointments please get your names down quickly :)

Those already registered and requesting to make payment via PayPal will start to get invoices through from tonight.

Just to clairfy how the early bird discount is achieved as I know a couple of you have asked the hotel directly for the discount which is NOT how it works .................

From the first post

"The hotel room rates are £78 double and £69 single bed and breakfast rate. We have an early bird discount on hotel rooms with the price at £65 double and £55 single available to the first 30 rooms booked and Ball tickets either fully paid for or the deposit paid. You cannot book this rate directly with the hotel, we as organisers will advise the hotel who the first 30 are and the room rate will be adjusted accordingly. If you book the hotel but do not pay for your ticket you will not get the early bird rate! "

If you are told when booking that they are not aware of the Ball allocation ask them if they are central reservations - apparently the phones divert to central reservations after office hours or when the other lines are busy and if they do not check the system will not be aware of the Ball. My contact is taking that up with them now but if any of you get an issue when booking tell central reservations to contact the hotel directly.

Hopefully these are just a few first day niggles that will quickly get sorted!
