Hi all!

I am so excited I finally got to order my new MC!! :nice: :nice:

I placed the order at Northwest mini on August 15 then confirmed the build on August 17...

The current status on the owners Lounge is Scheduled for production!! I guess it should happen sometime in september!!

Yet i can't see it states a week to be built or anything more specific. should I worry about that!? Am I able to consider myself part of the september production group?? My MA said it should arrive by Mid November? how accurate could that be??

I am so nervous, and trying to be patient.. after all I have been drooling for minis for the last 5 years, but finally I have the possibility to get one myself..

anyone else out there waiting for their mini too?

Any ideas on how long would it take to my baby to get home?

Appreciate your support, after all that is another great thing of minis, the community that is around them..

My first Mini is coming in September. My boyfriend, another mini owner, already went through the agony of waiting and knew how to get the dirt on when it comes. He called up miniusa to find out what my production week is.
It is Sept 11. I ordered mine maybe around the same day as you. I am looking forward to getting my Mini Copper Space Blue with Silver top.
I would suggest calling. I will post the number when I find it out as well. The website probably will not give more info until it is in production.

Oh I forgot to mention I am from the Northeast and was quoted that I would get my mini in late September, as late as early October. I hope you do not have to wait till November.

The lounge still says on order but no production date. I called miniUSA and was given the old "production schedule" but was not given a date. Contacted the dealer again and he didn't even have that info. I'm hoping it won't be terribly late in September when they get 'Silver Bean' out the door. I would love to see him over by the end of October, my order was place 2nd week of August.

Thanks! I really need to find that number,, I am growing anxious by seeing it not changing in status.. Unfortunately I am on the west coast, so I guess that may take a couple more days in shipping and getting here.

Gosh! I am really looking forward to receive it, and head out to the twisty roads on the mountains,, oughta plan a road trip for when it arrives.

:)

Thanks for your reply I will find the number, call and find about my production date.

I found the number. I am so sorry it took so long for me to post it. 877-ask-mini
I am calling tonight and hopefully it didn't get pushed back a week as rumor has it. I don't know how you west coast guys can handle the extra wait.

Thanks for the number, I actually called this morning my MA, and he looked around,, he said my baby has been already built! and is waiting to board a boat to come here!! Though since I am on the west coast I know it will be here until mid, or late october..:hmph:

I guess that gives me more time to prepare for my so waited baby to get home!!

Hope yours don't get pushed back!! :aargh: and you get it by the time you where expecting it to arrive.

:red:

Good luck on that!!

Any one else out there whose car has been built in this beautiul month!!??

:nice:

My mini has started production and should be ready to move onto the boat by sept 10. I didnt think my mini would start being built till sept 11. I am very excited but I still get the estimate of the first week of October. Mini USA yesterday told me they usually say you will get your mini a month after it is built. I hope this doesnt apply to me. I have heard the Northeast buyers usually get their mini quicker. I am crossing my finger.

Hey! but how do you know when your car is scheduled to jump in the ship??

Also what car did you order??

Mine is a MC Pepper white with black roof top. Premium package, Convenience Package and Cold Package. With the rear spoiler and a CVT transmission.. I am so lazy... :o

so how about yours?? already feeling the anxiety to drive your car.. I think I will not stop driving it for days when I get it.. only will stop to pickup gas. :):red:

My car is ready to jump on the ship. I hope it doesn't wait in the lot too long.
I ordered a manual transmission space blue, silver top, silver spoiler and some extra buttons on the steering wheel. I will be putting after market decals on the sides as well as some other features that I have seen my boyfriends mini. I am very excited for my mine but I have always driven automatics so I decided for my first mini to get manual. I wanted an S but since it is my first manual transmission I decided to wait on that purchase. I think any mini is going to be exciting to drive. When I drove a mini w/ CVT I even had fun. I am very happy for the mini and hopefully wont have too much trouble with a new clutch. I dont want to kill "Iam"(my mini's name) too soon.
You think it is ok to name your mini even before you get it?

Sep 12th, 2006, 12:51 AM
Yes,, I guess it is ok, to name your mini, me, I haven't decided on the name yet. I guess I can't believe still that I am getting a mini very soon, this has been a car that I have wanted for so looong.

My car has been on the port awaiting for shipment since last thursday,, I hope it jumps on a ship soon... I guess when it arrives I will plan a long trip for that weekend. Oughta find a name for my cooper..

:hmph:

cheers,

Hi Guys and Gals,

I know this is a predominantly US based thread but in 1 week, 6 days and 9 hours I take delivery of this:

MINI Cooper S Conv 1.6 4-Cyl 16V
Pepper White
Clth/Lea OCTAGON Black
CHILI Pack
- 17" S-Spoke Alloy Wheels
- 3 Spoke Spts Lea St Wheel
- Air Conditioning Manual
- Front Foglights
- Interior Light Package
- Pass. Seat Height Adj.

- Xenon Headlights & Wash
ASC+T
Black Bonnet Stripes
Driving Lamps
Chrome Line Exterior
Chrome-Line Interior
Chromed Mirror Caps
John Cooper Works Kit
Limited Slip Diff
Sports Seats
Sports Suspension

I am too excited for words. This'll be my second MINI after three previous Mini's. They make me grin so much - It Hurts

It arrives at my dealer on Monday 18th of Sep, then a week of PDI before it's mine - this means it's either built or very nearly. I have to say - I really feel for you all on the other side of the pond - waiting for a ship must be hell!

I remember what it was like waiting last time - it hasn't got any easier.

Top Tips for getting by:

1) Visit Mini2 regularly
2) Make "broom broom" noises in your current car (if not a MINI) and imagine what it'll be like coming out of a corner with a big S**t eating grin on your face
3) Look at other MINIs going past thinking, that'll be me soon - result!
4) Start thinking of that killer CD or Playlist that you'll put on in your new MINI - once you've got used to the noise of the car
5) Start thinking of a name - we named our PW/B MC "Gloria" as the Van Morrison song was the first thing that came on the radio, and it just seemed to fit.

Pablose - great colour combo. But then I might be just a tiny bit biased.

Sam I am Mini - I have no idea what space blue is, but with the silver top, sounds fabulous

Hang on in there guys - not long to go now.

Sorry for the rambling post - am feeling slightly manic as it's a bit close now!

My wait for my mini has been somewhat easier this last month because I have been practicing driving stick with my boyfriend's JCW Cooper S. It is fast and fun even though I am only in a parking lot and I seem to enjoy tormenting him by going too close to things, like the charles river.
ItHurts- Congrats on the next new mini. I have heard of alot of previous mini owners getting another. I think because the mini trade in value is so great that it doesnt really hurt to upgrade. Thank you about the tip for a nice sound track for my first drive. I will have it ready to go in the next week. Unfortunately, I dont think I will be driving it home from MIni of Peabody because I am not an expert at manual and getting out of that parking lot is hell. But I will cross my fingers that I will be ready and speed down route one w/ the windows down and the radio going to some great tunes.

Sam, don't worry about driving manual - by the time you've got used to it you'll wonder why you ever bothered with automatic!

We're getting a good trade in on our PW/B MC so the hike up to the "next level" (and then some) is being cushioned by the residuals. Insurance is nearly double though! OW!

Good luck with the waiting - I'm amazed that there only seems to be three of us having their cars built in September. Where's everyone else, I wonder?

I was wondering the same thing. I was hoping to talk to many new owners and get more info about my car. For some reason I am getting more info about my car from my boyfriend who found another thread with more info. I just found out my "Iam" has a boat, the elektra, but the boat is still in belgium. hopefully I will get bumped to another boat but for right now Iam will be in New York on the 22nd of September. Just in time to see the beautiful foilage in new england.

make it four. my mcs is "en route". the dealership expects it to be ready by early october (i live on the west coast). can't wait. must breath.

mcs
hyper blue with white roof and bonnet strips
chrome line interior and exterior
premium package
ipod connector

i debated about the sport package and standard transmission, but i live in the land of potholes and bumper to bumper traffic. replacing my clutch in half the time doesn't sound appealing.

Hey everyrone, I already know my car is on the Sirius Leader ship, from the NYK line , yet i don't know how to track it.

Anyone has any idea how to do so? or how long it may take for my car to get all the way to the pacific northwest? I am located in Seattle.

Thanks,

P.

Hit there thefred!

Welcome to the agony of the waiting game. Nice looking spec. When did you order?

I think if you check in with the Never Ending Owners Thread over here:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/general-discussion/50615-neverending-owners-thread-f-k-new-owners-thread-428.html#post2643098

It's a US based owners thread and they should be able to help you with tracking etc.

Hang in there guys!

I'm production week 37. Most of the people in that week really got screwed up by the fact mini used the wrong VIN numbers on their '06 models and put '07 Vin numbers on it. Luckly Mine was not one them and I am actually moving faster then most week 36 people. I am on my voyage over on Elektra
Check out where our minis wait for their voyage Google Maps (http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=Oxford,+England&daddr=&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=18&ll=50.887516,-1.396776&spn=0.002995,0.006829&t=k)

Here is how you find your boat. All you need is your vin number Cargo Tracking (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do)
Here is how you track your boat by name Weather observations and positions of ships at sea (http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html)
Good Luck!

Congrats!!! I think you made a nice decision, esp w/ traffic and potholes facing you. Boston is the king of potholes, so I feel your pain. Thank god I dont drive to work. That premium package and ipod should help through the traffic.
I am actually putting the ipod connector in my mini, Iam, when I get him. A little cheaper but a must have in any car. In every car I have had (sadly i have had many) I have always had a connection set up to my ipod. 3000 songs ready to play in a car that moves so wonderfully!!! How can you not get one!

Unlike you lucky *******s, I had to wait two months before my initial order went in (which was June). Apparently there was a waiting list to get on the waiting list! That's what you get when you go to a dealership with no mark up (which is the case for most of the MINI dealerships around here - up to $2200. Scandalous!).

I think the order finally went through mid-August.

I'm already setting up my MINI playlists on my iPod.

Oh, and the tracking link didn't work with my VIN number. Bummer deal. Well, I've waited this long, it'll probably be worse for me to know each movement of the ship. I wouldn't get any work done.

I saw four MINIs on the way into work. It's weird how I never really noticed them before.

Does anyone know a good website in the U.S./West Coast for aftermarket MINI accessories?

Sam I Am Mini
Sep 15th, 2006, 12:23 PM
Wow a waiting list for the waiting list. I heard of those but didnt have that problem here. Did you go to a MINI dealership or just a dealership that sold minis? No mark up here at MOP in new england. I think that is very wrong when they do that but the car gets so indemand they want to make more of a profit. Sometimes I wish they would make it alittle harder for people to get minis because I just want my car to be that more unique. But if that did happen, I could never afford one so everyone wins.
Aftermarket products are every where and it is hard to weed out the good and bad. I beleive there is a forum on this website with good information, but I use my boyfriend for reference. He has done some aftermarket work on his car. Nothing to do w/ the engine though (I believe). check out his website jwardell.com. I think you will find somethings helpful (esp if you are a person that loves a clean mini).

Congrats!!! If you are rubbing it in, we all understand. I have been bragging to everyone I know that I am getting a mini soon. I should be receiving my mini a week after you. I wonder how long the paper work is going to take. I am switching all my registration and license from ct to ma and getting a new insurance company. Alot of work to get down before the mini comes. So I appreciate the time. You going to be at the dealership when the mini rolls off the truck?

I think the MINI is already at the dealership! They've got a week's worth of Pre Delivery Inspections and stuff to do though. Why does it take a week?

5 days....

Sounds like you and I might have ordered from the same dealer.. East Bay MINI? I ordered 7/23... Moe was finished 9/12 and is still at the docks. Still better than I was told, which was look for end of November....The problem with us West Coasters is we don't often get on a WW ship so we can't find our VIN in the cargo list. NYK doesn't list cargo so we have to bug the MA (sales dude) to give us the name of our ship then we can track him on the open water through various vessel tracking sites.

Moe is.. HB/White roof, mirrors, s-lights; Sport/Premium; H/K Sound; HB interior; gray leatherette (dogs). Cosmetics already purchased and waiting to go: Hawaiian print bonnet stripe (U-shaped), custom matching boot bar stripe; tinted windows/sunroof; front license plate holder--toe hook space so no drilling bumper); "Actual Size" decal; blue stubby antenna; XMDirect/Blitzsafe input for seamless XM integration; and CA personalized plates in the "coastal" (blue whale tail) theme.... PKT SIZE.

My car is on the Sirius Leader.. and I haven't been able to find any way to track it.

Yet I am up in the northwest,so after it arrives, and goes through inspection it will have to come up north..

I hope we get our cars soon, it is sure a hard thing to wait for them!!
