: Official Competition Package Owners Roll Call works4me19 Jan 24th, 2008, 10:59 PM #20 was/is for sale on Craigslist in Vancouver. I'm trying to find out who bought it or if it sold. It was modded somewhat with header, paint, interior.
Suddenly, I have an interest in the CE. Whodathunkit? Oddly enough, I miss Velveteen. An open highway on a sunny summer day shoud cure that.
Is this beauty shot more to your liking Beken? bilal074 Jul 12th, 2011, 06:06 PM I just put a deposit on a mini that has all the option of the mini CP and the year also matches this car was sold originally in montreal by mont-royal mini. it's red with white roof. If anyone has info on this car pls share. When i went to see it i knew all the options it had but was not aware that it possibly could be only one of 64 like it. The though makes me happy that it could be a little more special then i thought. stickman Jul 12th, 2011, 07:15 PM All of the Competiton Edition MINI's had their number affixed to the tachometer face (29/64) for easy identification. Can't believe that almost five years have passed since I purchased this car. Still loving every minute behind the wheel. Now that is owner satisfaction. http://www.mini2.com/galleries/showphoto.php/photo/46622 bilal074 Jul 12th, 2011, 07:51 PM All of the Competiton Edition MINI's had their number affixed to the tachometer face (29/64) for easy identification. okay i just called mini with the VIN and they confirmed that it is a competition package mini. I'm not sure though if that means it automatically falls into the set of 64. I test drove the car and it does have all of the options listed in terms of what the CE is supposed to have.
glad you're enjoying your car, can't wait to get it tomorrow. stickman Jul 13th, 2011, 12:38 PM Good luck with your pick-up tomorrow. You are going to love this car. The bonnet stripes are after market, either your dealer can install them or you can save some coin by having them installed elsewhere. bilal074 Jul 13th, 2011, 04:59 PM some pics - hope i attached them right. still new here sorry! :) velveteen_mini Jul 13th, 2011, 07:12 PM It sure looks like a CE. Congratulations.
From the centre photo it looks like there is a number in the tach but it is hard to tell. It would be below the digital display.
If so, it will say XX/64. What number do you have?
My husband now drives my #19 due to some health issues I have. I get behind the wheel whenever possible, though. He now has a grin on his face whenever he has to go anywhere. stickman Jul 13th, 2011, 07:14 PM She looks good as new. What number is she and how many kilometers has she traveled? bilal074 Jul 14th, 2011, 02:41 PM Thanks a lot guys :) I have that grin on my face now too! :D
Took the Gray Hound to Montreal yesterday to pick my baby up and first thing i did when i saw it was look for that number and yes it's 39! YEY!
The exact KM on it is 70k it first hit the road in Nov of 2006. and was sold at Mount-Royal Mini in Montreal.
Other then all the upgrade packages that It has it pretty stock and yes it does look very close to a new even up close.
I'm really happy to have this car it's been a real journey for me with many things preventing me from owning one. I've wanted one and talked about them for the past 9 years. So happy to finally own one and not just any mini ...a JCW CE! :)

Congrats you'll love it. Any chance you would divulge their asking price for your new car? bilal074 Jul 14th, 2011, 04:11 PM They said that the original asking price was "24900$" velveteen_mini Jul 18th, 2011, 05:24 PM Congratulations and welcome. :D
One thing to be careful about - when I was driving mine, radar guns were pointed at me on a regular basis, even if I was going slower than the other, speeding, traffic, and once when I was standing still! I also had a cop pull an illegal u-turn to follow me. I think it either has something to do with red with white racing stripes or there is someone else in my neighbourhood with a red MINI who has been very bad. So, be careful where you have your fun, and it IS fun. | |
