We will be starting the new year with a MINI field trip to Huffaker Engineering (http://www.huffakerengineering.com/). Huffaker has been designing and developing competitive engines and chassis since 1960, preparing and racing Jaguars, Lister-Jags, MGs, Sprites, BMC & Genie sports cars, Triumphs, Sebrings, and Trans-Ams (as well as others). In 1992 Huffaker designed tube-frame, rear drive GT5 class Mini for the exercise of technology.

Huffaker's current design focus is on Pro Ford GT, Mustang Cobra, Pro Mazda, and club racing including Miata, Sprite/Miget, and other vintage racing specialties. Delta Miatas will be joining us for lunch in Sonoma and on this field trip to Infineon Raceway in the Sonoma County Wine Country.

There are two pre-runs prior to lunch. One will begin in Santa Rosa for Bay Area (http://redwoodempiremini.com/PDF/REME%20Santa%20Rosa-Sonoma%20Run.pdf) participants and another run will start in the Sacramento area. Both runs will start promptly at 9am and will converge at Lake Hennessey in Rutherford at about 11am to continue to the Sonoma Valley via Oakville Grade Road. :D

Please RSVP on the REME Events Calendar (http://www.redwoodempiremini.com/mbbs2/calendar/event-view.asp?eventid=130)or by posting in this forum.

We are expecting around 20-25 MINIs, a couple of Minis, and around 10 Miatas joining us on this run and field trip to Huffaker. This should be a great day, a relatively short run, and a fun field trip.

As of today, I believe we have 27-30 MINIs, 2-3 Minis, and possibly a Moke; plus 12-15 Miatas will be joining the run and field trip. There should be over 60 at lunch. The weather is suppose to be very cold but a cloudless sunny day (knock on wood).

There is still time to RSVP.

What a great day! We had over 45 cars and 80 people. REME knows how to put on a great run and field trip. Don't miss the February run,,, it will be an all-day run on great roads, great views, and lots of driving!
