Not had a chance to see or drive the new mini yet (I know, I know) but I have been reading the posts on here and especially Paul's write ups. I did a search on youtube and it came up with the following:

Seeing a video of it in real world conditions is nice (for someone like me yet to take a test drive!)

The more I see of that interior, the more it grows on me. Still not sure about the lower controls though.

Loads of engines rattle at tickover....virtually every ferrrari ever made, not to mention lambos and lots of other high performance cars as well as classic racing cars. Give them some revs and all that vanishes into a glorious noise that makes you cry with joy! Sure, the new engine has modern technology and so "shouldn't make tractor noises", but underneath it's a 4 pot with a turbo. How much more classic an engine can you get?:) Maybe one day you could get one of these (http://www.sportnetwork.net/boards/read/s491.php?f=936&i=29084&t=29084) in your MCS! :biggrin:

Actually, why didn't BMW/MINI do what VW did with the golf and put a supercharger and a turbo on the new MINI. I think the supercharger was as much of a design icon of the S as the rest of the styling of the car! They missed out on that one IMO.

The engine does rattle a lot, but then the M5 sounds like a bag of nails and that does alright :D

its not a PUG engine !!

there is an enoying ticking noice at low revs from the turbo unit,

the engine is a bmw , and peugeot imput was only to source the items, not build it or design it

Anyone not hoping that he was on an autobahn?? Look at his speedo, the pointer was trying to break out of it! :D Does look impressively quick though. Makes my 06 Cooper look like Citroen 2CV :p .

I don't remember seeing any when I lifted the bonnet. Sometimes it runs so quiet at the traffic lights I think it has stalled!
