UPDATE:
Registration is now closed

Yes, it's that time again ... finally.
I waited to see if the Cod would take over again, now he's (almost) back in a MINI ... but no.

The story so far. Deja Vu for all MOT2006 attendees!
Friday evening gathering - we expect to have a large room like MOT2006. We expect a Trivia Contest too.
Saturday morning - Loon Mountain Gathering, the best place to meet (and for many of us maybe the first chance to see a pile of R56s - and the Cods new turbo!)
Saturday midday - the drive; there will again be a choice of routes; or gather with other MINI friends and do your own thing (for best entertainment, follow the Ocean State MINI or NEMINI guys)
Saturday afternoon - Mount Washington; gather at the base and eat & chat. Food arrangements will duplicate MOT2006 with a separate tent to ease congestion - and the salad will return :)
Hopefully this years weather will be nice again and perhaps we'll get a sunset view for the first time since 2003 ... or maybe it'll snow, who knows?
Saturday evening - discussions whether or not to plan anything. Your input is welcomed.

This years charity has been selected by the voice of the people; it is Rosie's Place (http://minisontop.com/2007/01/14/rosies-place/) - we need everyones help raising donations to support the charity, provide door-prizes, etc.

In recognition of it being the fifth year of MINIsOnTop, Craig / Cooperation has designed a special "five years of MINIs" Tshirt for us:
http://www.minisontop.com/albums/MOT2007/MOTshirt704.thumb.jpg
(click to see bigger image) (http://www.minisontop.com/gallery/MOT2007/MOTshirt704)
The Tshirts this year will be gray and as you see above the MOT2007 color is yellow on black. There will again be a "classic" Tshirt design (with no MINIs) for those that prefer it (and for those that simply want to collect as many shirts as me ;))

The MINIsOnTop website (http://www.minisontop.com/) has been upgraded to allow easier updates - and we'll keep track of chat/ideas/suggestions/etc here.

Registration is open (http://minisontop.com/2007/02/04/mot2007-registration-is-now-open/) until April 29 - also be sure to book your lodging (http://minisontop.com/lodging/) early, hotels fill up quickly!

Picked out the '04 Maxmobile and '06 GPMINI right away! Niiiice:)

I'll be there and in the right vehicle this time too.

Can you add the Cape Cod MINI Moose tour for Friday at dusk? We have a 100% success rate so far.

Steve , consider us pre-registered for the Moose tour , we missed the tour two years ago , looked for them on our own, no moose ... last year , no moose. Patty doesn't believe they exist .

Steve, could you pin yourself down to a time to meet / head off (presumably starting from T&C)? Then we can post it up on the MOT site too - thanks :)

PS: It's not GPMINI, it's *any* GP; they all look the same - except the ones that don't (http://www.gpmini.net/gallery/MTTS15/IMG_3003) - here for example, three of these cars are not mine! ;)

<aol>Me too</aol> I've heard about MoT for a few years, now (hell, I was reading Ian's blog loooong before I got a MINI) and the awesome group of people (Pat excepted, of course ;)) and I'm excited to be a part of this one!

I've been sitting on the fence about this years attendance especially as I will probably still be recovering from the BABE rally, but I just contacted T&C to reserve a room
*just in case*.....................................:~)

We have missed the moose chase in past years so that just might be the motivation!

I'm hoping that NHREF sets up another weather observatory tour: for anyone even vaguely interested in what they do up there monitoring the weather , this to me was FASCINATING!And you get to go up firsts and get the best parking spaces too!

I'll be there with the Mazdaratti, although I guess it won't be going to the top. I'm willing to be I can hitch a ride with someone.

OK.
Cape Cod MINI Moose Hunt:
1. Gather at TandC entrance at 6:15 p.m. on Friday 6/16. No need to sign up. Just show up. If we have more than 25 cars we'll do it in two flights about 15 minutes apart. Of course if there is enough prior interest I could have Cape Cod MINI MOT Moose Hunt Pre-Registered t-shirts made up.
2. Depart TandC at 6:30 p.m.
3. Estimated time of return 8-8:30 p.m.
4. What to bring: -Camera; big flash light or poacher's spot light, insect repellant (in case you get out and walk near the swamps).
5. Mist or light rain is no problem. Heavy rain will cancel the hunt.
Rules:
1. No horns, no revving engines, no speeding, no passing unless you are directed to by the car in front of you or the car in front of you pulls off to the side.
2. Stay a respectable distance from Moose if you get out of your car. The only time you should get close to a moose on foot is if you are positive you can run at least 35 m.p.h. to outdistance the moose. FYI, the fastest male sprinter in the world can hit about 27 m.p.h and that's only briefly during a 100 meter dash.
3. No tail gating please. Moose like to jump out of the woods right in front of you. If you are tailing someone and they have to hit the binders.....

The Route:
-Turn left out of TandC onto Route 2 West.
-Continue through Gorham. (note: in August, 2002 or 2003, dusk, I saw a black bear clear the fence at the cemetery right in downtown Gorham, race across the road and through a flower garden heading towards the rail road tracks.)
-Bear right at lights which is Route 16 North to Berlin.
-In Berlin continue on Rt. 16 North towards Milan. In a couple of miles there is a slight chance of moose spotting.
-At Milan continue on Rt. 16 North and watch for moose all the way to Errol. Certain motorers may note we are passing by the hamlet of Dummer, NH and feel a sense of home-coming.
-Stop at Errol MINI Mart/gas station at the junctions of Routes 16 and 26.
-Turn around and trace route back to TandC, driving slowly and being watchful. -Suggest stopping at various turn outs near marsh/swamps and scanning them for moose.

We are currently pulling together some organizational efforts to help this year's MOT be absolutely spectacular! As soon as some of the details are in place, there will be a post on the MOT website (http://www.minisontop.com) asking for volunteers. If you would like to help out with this years Fifth Annual Event, please watch for this post. Opportunities within organizational areas that need leadership and assisting volunteers will be shown.

If you already know that you'd like to help out in any area needing volunteers, please PM me and let me know. I'll keep a "volunteers list "and will contact you for more information.

Thanks,

Theo :yellow:

Looking forward to another MOT in a new MINI. Booked our room at the T&C a few weeks ago in anticipation.
