I have just fitted some black dial faces in my car :D

I painted the needle centres matt black to match the dial faces...

Pobsey - they look great! Easy / quick to fit?

Do the red lights still show through (redline on tach, empty petrol, etc.)?

To fit them is easy but to get them right takes abit longer - you have to remove the needles and to get them in the right place takes the time, all the warning lights still work just as on the normal dials

Start to finish they took about 1 1/2 hours, most of the time was taking the car to bits - first time I've had the dash apart :)

It looks like all the warning lights look a bit more visible while they're off (whereas the stock ones mainly look like a black circle)...and are the lines/symbols for the temperature/petrol in a sort of grey/red, rather than white?

The photograph doesn't help, the symbols blend in to the black very well and only show up when they are lit up

Good news...might have to get some of these :D

Hoping to get white needles as well (speedo/tach/petrol/temp)...just been onto Essentialmini.

They are in the works for the tach and speedo, but not for the chrono dial,

Tach/speedo (US spec) are now available for Nav/Chrono configuration, and I have ordered a set. They mentioned that they cannot do the center Chrono dial because of its 3 dimensional surfaces.

I have an anthracite interior and I am also going to paint the tach/speedo trim rings to match the other trim rings on the dash. Pobsey, your tach trim ring looks like it has been painted? I'll be happy to get rid of all that silver (dials and trim rings) as I think they are a glaring mismatch for the anthracite interior.

rkw, yes I have painted the tach ring :D the colour I used is Honda Thunder Grey its a very close match to the dash

hey guys quick question....would opening the dash, etc. cause any warranty issues?

I would say it would depend on the dealer, as all you are doing is removing the dial face and replacing it, if the was a problem just pop the standard one back in.

Pobsey, could you post the paint code for Honda Thunder Grey? I searched and found code NH-575M for Thunder Grey on Acura (premium brand of Honda here in the US). Colors may have different names in different countries, but the code should be the same.

Same speedo and rev counter in all MINI models I believe! No problem to put them in your MINI One IMO.

Said they have Black, Blue, Charcoal, Union Jack and Unior Jack Greyscale. They say the charcoal colour is NOT like the GP's dials, its charcoal colour but non metallic.

Price $189 + $10 shipping to the UK. £100 approx which I think is very reasonable for the 2 dials.

My car is yellow so that was what i wanted originally but i think the black would look nice with the interior.

And yes with that is very reasonable, considering the exchange rate atm is very good if ordering from the US.

Thats what I think, Think that the anthracite dash would look very good with the charcoal dials. But the brilliant silver will look cool with dark dials too. Not sure I like the Blue, Red or Yellow dials, a bit too bright for me but very cool to have this extent of modification!

Well I never did this and after loosing out on the breaker GP dials I'm thinking this avenue again but the website is not active. Anyone know anywhere to get charcoal dials for speedo and rev counter?

Ah thanks for that but they seem to be the Out Motoring ones which I don't like as much as the Cockpit Specialties ones. I've emailled them but don't know the difference between US spec ones and UK spec ones. Anyone know if theres a difference?

I love those Electroluminance ones some of those are very cool - slightly too expensive though?

There is a difference between UK and US cars, the warning lights are completely different ;)

Randal has found some UK spec ones for me but have to check the symbols just in case. Just got to decide if Charcoal would go with my Park Lane/chrome interior?

Did this reallly quick mock up - Do you think they would work?

Ones with the original dials and the other is with grey. I've used a USA pic so had to flip the tach dial to fit.
