: Seattle or Seattle/Portland?

How many interested in a Seattle-area MINI meet? Maybe September 7th? Do we want to drive, or just meet for lunch?
I drove up to Chuckanut Drive last night (about 100 miles, round trip), and it is a very nice drive, with nice views, and some restaurants along the way. There are some parks for picnicing, as well.
Or, how about a drive to Point Defiance (is the Five Mile Drive still intact?) in Tacoma, with lunch along Ruston Way?
Locally, we could meet at Green Lake, or Shilshole, or ? Maybe a drive through the Arboretum?
Is there any interest in a combined Seattle/Portland event? I'm not familiar with the South Sound area; maybe there's a scenic drive along the ocean?

Hi RickB... A Seattle meet would be great. I should have my S in a week. Any place would be fun... I just want to motor!

Chuckanut is a fantastic drive!

I am new to the Northwest, and hopefully will be a new owner of a dark silver/black Mini S sometime soon! I currently own a Miata and have been involved with those car clubs for years, now I hope to find similar excitement with the Mini!

Anyways, I saw the title of this thread and thought I'd post a link to a new yahoo.group I started ... I am hopnig to get the word out and start a local community for Mini drivers in the Northwest! :)

Green Lake would also work well . . .
considering I'm right around the corner! :D

So, there are some MINI owners in Seattle! Anyone who is interested, try to keep September 7th open, and we'll make a plan before then.

I may be able to attend... depends on work.

Who has the chili red/White with the nice tint that honked at me on Elliot Ave?

I'm due to order my "S" next year..I've asked the Vancouver BC Mini club to join you guys on this meet. If you guys don't mind having me bring my M5 along then I'd love to join the meet.

Does the Vacouver Club have a y.group or web-site up?

I'd like to check it out ... it would be nice
to keep the two clubs "connected" somehow! :)

Anyone want to get together on Saturday morning? 9:00 at Golden Gardens? Maybe drive to Bad Albert's in Ballard, for a Dock Street breakfast?

Would love to, but my car still isn't here. I guess it had some damage done to the right front fender, so still hasn't been loaded on the truck. Maybe I can make it next time. :(

Seems to be some bad karma with cars destined for Seattle!

I was having the same thoughts RickB.... after reading what happened to your car I was a little worried. Now I am down-right scared! Do you think we are jinxed or what!

It isn't all bad... once you get the car you forget about all the waiting. Mine sat for about 4 weeks in various places before arriving at the dealer. Now all I do is drive it. :D

So are we talking about this Saturday? Sept 7th?

I don't have a MINI either (yet), but I don't see any reason not have a get together sometime. It would be nice to get the "community" going! :)

kb_solo2 - It's not so much the wait, as the finding out they've damaged it before delivery!
Unless there is some groundswell of support for a different venue, I'll be at Golden Gardens at 9:00 on Saturday, September 7. Anyone driving a MINI, waiting for a MINI, pining for a MINI, etc., is welcome to show up.
I'm taking my car to the dealer tomorrow morning, to address a couple of niggles, and assume it will be back on the road long before Saturday morning.

Members of the Vancouver Mini Cooper Club can meet up with you at the Zellers parking area at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond, BC and we can drive up to Whistler (our most scenic Sea to Sky Highway...with lots of curves and elevation changes...Mini Highway). :D

The forecast for Saturday is sunny and Sunday, cloudy. Your call, just let us know.

Hey everyone! Glad to hear you are all having fun with your MINI's!!!! We are interested in a Dealer Supported MINI Club here in the Northwest, and were hoping you would supply some ideas, suggestions etc for events and runs that we can do. Anyone who wants in or has a suggestion, send it to me at tim@northwestmini.com

Well, it's going to rain for the next eight months; anyone want to go for a drive?

I'm interested in hooking up with other MINI owners in the Seattle area. Portland might be a good day trip.

What I really want to do is get down into northern California. I can just picture the MINI driving in the Redwood forest. I think I'll have to wait until I drive the fam down to Disneyland for that, though! :)
