Hi guys, this is my first post and hoping for some advice!!

I have a Mini Cooper S (2005) and expecting my first baby in September.
I'm interested in buying the maxi-cosi car seat and the bugaboo cameleon pushchair. Now here's my questions...!

CAR SEAT - MAXI-COSI
- Do u think my 2005 Mini Cooper S can be used with the isofix base? Can I tell by looking if it's compatible? What do I look for!? (I live in Hong Kong and I'm sure if I rang Mini they woud not have a clue what I was talking about!!)
- If using the isofix base, I understand the front passenger seat has to be quite far forward. If I use just the seat belt to secure the baby seat (ie no base), would this be the same case with regards to the position of the front passenger seat?
- Does the isofix mark/damage the leather seat? Can you put anything on the seat to prevent such?
- Can you fit the isofix base yourself?

PUSHCHAIR - BUGABOO CAMELEON
- Does this fit into the boot of a Mini Cooper S? I read somewhere on this forum that it fits into a convertible with the parcel shelf higher and by removing the wheels. But is this the same case for a tin top CS? Can you change the position of the parcel shelf?

Thanks guys :)

Hi

ISOFIX
I've got a 2003 Mini and in fact just purchased the Maxi-Cost car set yesterday together with the Bugaboo Chameleon. My Mini hasn't got the isofix but the car seat fits exceptionally well with a seatbelt and is really easy. My other half has a BMW 3 series with isofix so we have bought the isofix base for his. We had a demonstration and it is really easy to install. In fact, you can't go wrong. On the bottom of the back seat you should be able to find two metal fixers which is the isofix. I would imagine your Mini has them as they started installing isofix on the Mini 6 months after I got mine.

If you don't install it with the isofix you do have to have the front seat far forward otherwise it won't fit. I'm contemplating having the front passenger air bag deactivated on mine so the baby seat can be put in the front seat but I'm going to take advice on this as to how safe it is.

BUGABOO CHAMELEON
We also bought the Bugaboo Chameleon. The chassis fits in the boot if you take the parcel shelf out or the better alternative is to take one of the quick release wheels off and then it fits perfectly. I was a bit dubious about having to take one of the wheels off but they click on and off really easily.

Hope this helps!
