Hi. I will be travelling to Tokyo over the easter holidays.

I hope to be able to check out some of the accessory shops which I have seen featured in the Japanese magazines, in particular Bond Garage. However, I am not sure how I can get there. I need directions (due to the language barrier - sadly, I can't read or converse in japanese). Would appreciate if anyone could advise me on where I should check out and the directions as well. (P/S: I do not intend to drive in Tokyo-not sure if I can get to any garages/shops).

I will stop by Hong Kong enroute. Would appreciate if anyone would advise which accessory shops are worth checking out as well.

Hey Vokey, I maybe of some help on the Japan section here. Bond Garage is pretty small. There is a train station nearby but the station name escapes me. However it is about a 20-30 min walk from the train station. To be honest they sold the least amount of parts. Most of their stuff is oem or dealer parts.

If you're in Osaka, there is a shop called Delta Mini. From Osaka station you need to catch the subway to Esaka. Once you get off the train station look in the direction that you just came from. There is a main street somewhere there (sorry don't know the name) that intersects with the street of the train station (maybe one or 2 blocks up, depending what part of the station you get out from). Anyways you gotta walk down that main street (it's somewhat industrial and dead), and you cross a bridge somewhere (abt 30-40 mins walk from the station) and you'll come across it.

Have fun while you're there. There's also Mini Mania which is in Yokohama I think. That's abt 1 - 1.5 hr away by bullet train from Tokyo. To be honest I didn't go there so don't know where it is.

Thanks for the information. I will certainly try to check out Delta Mini. Incidentally, what do you think is of value to buy over at these shops? I realised some of the items are alot more expensive than elsewhere but they have some really cool stuff which i can't get elsewhere.

To be honest there's a few nice things, but for the most part you can get them anywhere. Price wise, be prepared to get slugged. It's quite pricey though, so don't really think it's worth it. Also a little bit of Japanese goes a looong way.
