Just to let everyone know that the MINI Challenge event at Donnington Park this year will be a MINI Festival organised by Total Track - with a little help from me :D

The date is Sunday 5 August

The Challenge team want to get over 300 mini's on track at the same time, which will be a world record attempt - so everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

We are currently putting together a list of things that will be happening, apart from some great racing obviously as there will be:

MINI Challenge
Radical Enduro/BiDuro
Sport Maxx Cup
Mini 7
WestField
Britcar

so a packed event !!!

Will the Guiness World Record People be attending this meeting ? Also does the record stand on a race track?????

Do you just buy tickets on the day? I wanted to book mine on the website but doesn't seem to be an option. I have got the mini 2 for 1 ticket, so do I just show them that at the gate? What time do we need to get there ideally?

I went to Donington last year for the MINI challenge and went on the parade lap. I am hoping to go this year. You can buy tickets on the day and you go through a certain entrance to get into the middle of the track and assemble there. I think it was at Coppice Corner where you go through.

300 is too many. It'll be like a traffic jam. Much better when you can take a few bends at a reasonable speed.

According to the Guiness World Records every MINI has to drive a minimum of 2 miles, the cars should be no more than 2 car lengths apart and yes, it does need to be unbroken :D

The MINI Challenge team are taking this very seriously indeed :) and they are working on it now.

Also, this is something they are organising not MINI UK. I'm sure they are looking into all the rules of engagement and possibliity of Guiness Book of Records being there - but don't quote me on that!!!

Also, we are looking at a few giveaways for the day - Certificate, Sticker and so on along with opportunity to but MINI stuff.

Our shop will be in the Paddock to so come and say hi :)

Nick - on the sunday first race is usually about 11.30am but its best to get there early.

I'll be there from Thurs thru' to Sunday.
