I saw a MINI Cooper S in Athens last month I was sat in Mc Donalds at syntagma square. Oh and a yellow Cooper on Zakynthos.

I plan to drive to Samothraki at the end of August with my Mini (live in Belgium :D ). So I was wondering where to find a list of mini-centers in Greece and especially in Alexandroupolis in case of problems that may arise. Hope not, but you never know. :(

Last time in May I saw a red cooper in Alex'polis, so there must be a dealer somewhere.

I 've been looking around the web but couldn't find any info.

I am afraid there is no MINI dealer in Alexandroupoli only a BMW one under the name Karypidis AE, located on the 3rd km of highway from Alexandroupoli to the nearest borders. Their telephone number is 2551088830 up to 9. Also you can contact MINI mobile serice at 2109406333 up to 4. All the telephones assume you are calling from inside Greece, other wise add Gr indernational code. For you info the Greek MINI dealers are 4 in Athens (Halandri, Glyfada, Marousi, Nea Ionia), in Thessaloniki, in Kozani, in Larisa, in Patra, in Rhodes and Crete (Hrakleio city) islands.
If you don't mind asking are your plans on visiting Samothraki during 28th in August - 3rd on September during the dance festival held on those dates?

Yes, I hope to arrive the 1st of September. My vacation begins the 30st of August, so I won't make it the 28st. :( Anyway, I'll be there to attend the party for at least 1, maybe 2 days.

Are you going also to Samothraki these days? And with your Mini? :D Maybe we can meet up somewhere? :)

Anyway, if you go: the IB/W Cooper with Belgian number plate is mine. Feel free to say hello.

It would have been impossible not to find Greeks, even if those were mini owners...lol. A GR mini club would be great, if you can make it happen i'll be glad to join in. This year BMW-GR has managed to sell enough minis, so that, some of the owners could form a club. Anyway, i wish you great rides with your forthcoming S.

You must be pretty aware of the Greek tuning market since you are familiar with, Kafounis motor sports, unless he has Greek relatives in Sydney :D . Anyway i have seen a tuned S, stage I 210ps, from Racing Dynamics offered through Kafounis witch is the official dealer here in Greece.

about kafounis motorsport , from my side iam not pleased...
i called 2 months ago to ask him about a compressor kit that hi has for cooper, and if i was waiting for his call.....ase....hi toled me that he had to ask in germany to find out if the ecu of my car was the right one so the kit won't has problems...so i was waiting....mayde he was't able to make "work" out of athens...(i couldnt go the car to athens so he had to send something to take it or something like that) So i bored..and ordered a cooper s :)) probably this was a better move!!!!
But i have heard that he do good work on cars..

Anyway as WILD COOPER might correctly said kafounis seems to be uninterested, so far at least, to mod MINIS. The S i saw was last year, winter of 2002, i had my S for 2months already. I visited them in a car-mod exhibition at Peristeri Athens and during our talk they seemed as they didn’t believe that i owned an S and already wanted to mod it. Anyway apart from that, meaning their sales policy, i also believe that they "know-how" the BMW cars and since they offer Racing Dynamics packages quality-durability and performance is reassured.
I hear that RD has now a 230+ with a 260 camshaft, full exhaust system(manifold+catalytic converter+back silivncers), sc pulley and ecu.

The S is a way better move a the engine is stronger and decompressed for the supercharger and also has 6-speed.

If i where you boys i would get a week off and drive to Germany and get a kit fitted from factory ( Hartge, RD etc ). :D

Since Chania is a rather small city I thought there wouldn't be many Minis, but my friends (who are also anticipating my Mini's arrival!) have told me that they've spoted at least three (in yellow, black and blue colors). I guess I'll see them myself in the city and perhaps meet them, who knows.

Well anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I can't wait to have my mini. I hope you're all well and that we will see more greek Mini drivers in this forum!

It depends on the place that my Mini will be delivered. There's a chance they'll send it straight to Crete, otherwise I'll come over there to pick it up! :) (Damn, this waiting is killing me!).

I'll let you know when I come. Have you met any other Mini owners in our beautiful city?

Well, they told me I'd get it by the late January or "to poly" mid start of Feb... it's 23 and no news yet! Not only do I want to have the Mini because it's a Mini, but I'm without a car for the last 3 months and I live outside of the city (Chania) in a village... so I feel some isolation that's getting on my nerves really badly!

But I know that by the time I have my new MC in my hands all this will be forgotten and replaced with pure joy :D
