Just seen the New strut brace on the new challenge car looks more rigid than our JCW one, also bonnet scoop deflector to reduce turo heat.:red:

Confused:confused:

Why has this challenge car not got the JCW airbox ?.

Surely the challenge car has 210bhp not the 192bhp of road car, so im guessing the engines tuned differently. If its a demo, maybe it's only for looks and hasnt got the challenge engine in it.

PMP you may be correct re mock up but everything else in the show looked very real to me, also re the difference in power that could have been done internally i suppose:red:

So is the brace in the above picture the same as the one specified for the Factory JCW (as this is a challenge race car right?). and if so is that different to the standard JCW strut brace??

Does anyone know what the torque settings are for the JCW strut brace mounting nuts ?
I know that on Gen1 they are torqued to 35NM.
Cheers

The above part no. is not the brace pictured above. This part no. is the exact same part as the std. brace but the JCW logo has moved to the right hand side rather than centre.

Other than that i can't see the difference.

Can anyone source the part no. for the one pictured above !!

The one in the top pictures is the brace for the R56 Mini Challenge race series, and these parts aren't available to non race car owners. They aren't available in the UK either because our challenge series is still using the old car. I contacted mini motorsport uk about it, but they said they can't get r56 motorsport parts until the r56 is used in the uk series.
I think the only possibility of getting one is through someone involed in the mini challenge series in Germany.

Time to clear this up folks as its hellishly confusing :p

There are two 'JCW' braces available for the R56 - see below:

Normal JCW Strut Brace
This is available from any dealer - part number 51 71 0 442 352
Distinguishing feature of the brace is where it bolts on to the suspension turret, there is not a complete circle of metal on the brace.

MINI Challenge Strut Brace
Easily distinguishable by the full circle of metal surrounding the suspension turret. Part number and availability unknown.

See attached images for clarification

A couple of close up shots of the R56 Challenge brace mounting showing why it is different

Acces to adjustable suspension - note the strut top has an elongated hole nt the standard round hole.

Thought mini had rolld out the new R56 challenge cars at the begining of the year?

To be honest not much gets changed to the engine.
