Hello all...

As you know these cars have significant amounts of black plastic trim on the exterior, including wheel arches all around and lip spoilers front and rear.

Is this stuff vinyl or some other form of plastic?

I'm looking for a detailing product that will clean/shine/protect this stuff... but I've heard some products contain elements that may make the plastic look great now but somehow deteriorate or break it down over time.

What do you recommend to keep everything black without causing damage?

So far I've been recommended to try Mother's Back to Black and Meguiar's Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner. I've also been told to steer clear of ArmorAll.

Any suggestions/feedback/experiences? Thanks in advance!

I'm currently using Zymol Protectant, it's very good and seems to keep the black looking good for quite a long time.It may seem expensive at approx £20 for a bottle but it lasts for ages!!

P.s Some people may have already guessed that I really like Zymol products!!!!!:D

I use Autoglym Bumper Care and it works a treat in freshening up the plastic bits. I don't know about the long term benefits or detriments but I recall it saying something about repelling water on the bottle.

A couple of sites you might want to check out.
Proper Auto Care (http://www.properautocare.com) has some great products, reviews, and care tips. I've followed some of their recommendations and have been pleased every time. Also Emmons Coachworks (http://www.emmonscoachworks) has a great selection of Zymol products and detailed tips on application processes. Their prices are better than Zymols site too.
