: Got to drive the Cooper today :D mister.t Feb 1st, 2008, 07:20 PM To cut a long story short, I got to drive the R56 Cooper today :D:D Fiesta is broken again, so Mum organized this rather large surprise :D:D For someone who has only had their driving license for 2 1/2 weeks, and only been legally allowed to drive a road car for just over a month, it was incredible!! Anyway, here I was presented with a Cooper, with so statistics say, a lot more mid range punch and a more immediate throttle response than the R56 Mini One I learnt in. The throttle response is much better, because Im lazy, I often in 30 and 40 limits drive in 4th, and the One didn't like me doing that, but happily, the Cooper couldn't be more inviting :) However, the best bit about it has to be the mid-range shove. Exiting a roundabout entering onto a dual carriageway in 2nd gear from 20 mph to the red-line and into 3rd was one of the best feelings I've felt since I was full time racing. Considering my Fiesta does 0-60 in 16 secs (yes I didn't know it was possible either!!), getting to 60 in about 8.5 secs felt pretty swift after the Fiesta! Felt a lot more than 120bhp, the power delivery was so linear! The only lasting impression Im left with is what must a Cooper S be like? Then in another spectrum, an S Works :o:eek::eek: Im currently looking at the cheapest financial solutions and insurance as you read :D:D supa-dupa-cooper Feb 1st, 2008, 07:24 PM Lol, nice one Ollie :D So you want a Cooper of your own now then?! :p 118 Feb 1st, 2008, 08:10 PM haha nice one Ollie :D tell you what, you can have a go in my S if you're at the TG run :p

Also just realised March the 1st is a Saturday - One of the days I've elected to work between 6th Form commitments. Does March the 1st ring a bell to anyone? :o I may have to plan to be ill if Im working for MINI :o:D supa-dupa-cooper Feb 2nd, 2008, 01:28 PM I may be working at Specialist Cars soon :o (Long story again...) The dealership I'm working with at the moment has had a re-shuffle, and I can no longer be fitted in, and as per the managers original word, he said if he couldn't do anything, he'll do his very best to put me, within reason, any dealership in Herts (dealt with pretty much every one of them, but has a very strong relationship with Specialist Cars, always buys his Beemers and Minis from there) and I requested Specialist Cars!! I chickened out and didn't specify which garage (big mistake :o) but he knows how much I like Minis, so you never know - Playing the waiting game at the moment

Not to worry, I'll take it out late on the 29th Feb instead when the roads are dead :D:D
Don't worry I wouldn't do such a thing :) Not to your car anyway :o :D:D supa-dupa-cooper Feb 2nd, 2008, 02:07 PM The dealership I'm working with at the moment has had a re-shuffle, and I can no longer be fitted in, and as per the managers original word, he said if he couldn't do anything, he'll do his very best to put me, within reason, any dealership in Herts (dealt with pretty much every one of them, but has a very strong relationship with Specialist Cars, always buys his Beemers and Minis from there) and I requested Specialist Cars!!
